i80 Gold publishes results from underground drilling at Granite Creek in Nevada

TSX and NYSE-listed i80 Gold has announced results from the first 16 holes of its 2022 underground drilling programme at the Granite Creek Property in the US state of Nevada.

Testing the Ogee Zone at depth, i80 reported multiple high-grade mineralised horizons, including 13.3 g/t gold over 13.1 metres, 20.3 g/t over 7.5 metres and 10.1 g/t over 17.5 metres. Additional drilling has focused on extensions of the Otto, Adam Peak and Range Front faults beneath historic workings.

The ongoing 30,000 metres surface and underground drill programme is focused on defining mineralisation for inclusion in an updated feasibility study, which will be published once the drilling is completed.

“These drill results further increase our confidence in the next level to be mined from the Ogee Zone,” said senior i80 geologist Tyler Hill. “We continue to test extensions of the Ogee Zone at depth, which will complement expansion drilling in the new South Pacific Zone.”

Granite Creek is strategically located at the intersection of the Getchell and Battle Mountain Trends, immediately South of Nevada Gold Mines’ Twin Creeks and Turquoise Ridge mining operations.

With an organic growth platform at Granite Creek and other gold assets in the state, i80 aims to become Nevada’s second largest producer with additional sustainable development opportunities.
