08 Mar Mining Indaba’s virtual Investment Battlefield competition to commence this week
A selection of junior African mining companies will go head-to-head this week in the Investing in African Mining Indaba’s popular Investment Battlefield competition.
The highly competitive contest, which usually takes place during the Mining Indaba in Cape Town, gets underway on Tuesday 9th March, with global investors and financiers encouraged to tune in to the virtual event to learn more about some of Africa’s most promising mining projects.
Junior miners focused on precious metals exploration will take part in the first heat on 9th and 11th March, while entrants to the bulk and base metals heat will present their stories on 16th and 18th March. Finally, the battery and energy materials heat will take place on 23rd and 25th March ahead of Mining Indaba’s Virtual Investment Programme, launching 30-31st March.
“Given the huge success of the Investment Battlefield since it launched in 2017, we wanted to continue this year despite the global pandemic challenges,” said Mining Indaba’s director of investor relations Kael O’Sullivan.
“We believe the format will translate well to the virtual environment of the Investment Programme and once again, prove an integral part of our offering aimed at investors and mining companies. Whether virtually or in-person, we believe it is important for junior mining entrepreneurs to be given the opportunity to gain exposure and build relationships with investors and brokers.”
The precious metals exploration round commences at 14:00 GMT tomorrow and includes corporate presentations from Pelangio Exploration, Platinum 1 and Antler Gold. They will face a top panel of judges from OCIM Precious Metals, Elemental Royalties and MJG Capital.
Attendance for the first stages is free, click here to register a place in the audience.
