Silver exploration firm Zacatecas joins TSX Venture Exchange

Mexico-focused explorer Zacatecas Silver Corp has today commenced trading on the TSX Venture Exchange (TSXV) today, under the symbol ‘ZAC’.

According to a company announcement, the financing was supported by top institutional investors and mining professionals. Zacatecas already counts Eric Sprott as one of the largest shareholders in the business.

The exploration firm holds 7,826 hectares of highly prospective ground within the Fresnillo Silver Belt, located in Mexico’s Zacatecas State, which has historically produced over 6.2 billion ounces of silver.

The Zacatecas Silver property is 25 km Southeast of MAG Silver Corp’s Juanicipio Mine and Fresnillo’s flagship mine, and it shares common boundaries with Pan American Silver Corp claims and El Orito, which is owned by Endeavour Silver.

There are four main target areas within the Zacatecas concessions: The Panuco deposit, Muleros, El Cristo and San Manuel-San Gill.

Following the IPO, Zacatecas Silver is well funded with over US$9 million in cash to carry out an extensive drill programme at the Panuco deposit, the Veta Grande vein extension target and on other high priority exploration targets.
