Montezuma Mining expands WA gold portfolio

Montezuma Mining Company Ltd (ASX:MZM) has added the Holleton Gold Project, located 400km east of Perth to its gold portfolio.

Holleton hoists the Brahma gold prospect, a 2.5km-long gold soil anomaly, which has been historically tested with shallow aircore drilling confirming objective potential.

The mining company plans to begin exploration at Holleton once the exploration licence application has been approved.

The Holleton exploration licence covers 115 km² of the Holleton Greenstone Belt positioned 400km east of Perth.

The area was previously explored by Independence Group NL (ASX:IGO) who discovered numerous gold anomalies through soil sampling.

Anomalies identified include: Brahma, Cochin, Jersey Giant and Barnevelder. In addition to the gold project, Montezuma will continue to explore with multiple projects including the Yamarna Gold Project in Western Australia.

All Yamarna prospects lie along strike and within 20km of the 6.2 million ounce Gruyere gold discovery by Gold Road Resources Ltd (ASX:GOR).

The Yamarna Greenstone Belt is an underexplored area, which is geologically similar to the Kalgoorlie Gold Belt.
