Canada’s BluMetric Environmental signs supply deal with major global mining firm

BluMetric Environmental (TSX-V:BLM), a company which builds water treatment systems for mining sites, will supply their services to a major global mining company for a site in Northern Quebec.

The Ottawa-based clean-tech firm signed a $1.03 million contract with the unnamed mining giant to supply, install, commission, and provide operator training for a mine-water treatment system at the remote hematite mine site.

“This project comes out of our strategy of developing custom-tailored mine-water treatment systems for use in environments that are often compounded by extreme conditions and complex water chemistry,” said Byron O’Connor, BluMetric’s director of engineering.

BluMetric had to design a bespoke contained system suited to the difficult conditions of the remote area in the icy-cold far North of Quebec.

“Our professional experience in remote territories and our understanding of the associated environmental issues relating to mining served as a base, on which we built using our process knowledge and our willingness to act as a partner with our client,” added CEO Roger Woeller.
